The Shallow End made a major splash at New York City-based IndieWorks' 7th Annual Best of Fest on April 25, taking two awards out of four nominations. The short film won the Golden Whiskers Award for best film. Cynthia Silver won for Best Director.
Cast members Zoe Wilson, Zoe Manarel, Sanai James, Parker Winston, and Trevor Brooks earned a nomination for Best Ensemble. Will Mayo was nominated for Best Editing.
The Shallow End also won the Silver Whiskers Award for best film at IndieWorks in November 2019.
